Why I made a website

Building and maintaining a website is time consuming and costs me money with no ROI. Why am I doing this?

1. Permanence of me

I have interesting experiences, projects, and ideas that I haven't shared with the world (I prefer doing over talking about doing). I’m afraid that some of those things will get lost in the messy pages of my journal or the forgotten void in my mind. My website preserves my experiences for me to look back on increases my serendipity when it comes to meeting other interesting people.

2. Learning in public

It’s impossible to learn in isolation. Without feedback loops, learning is stagnant. I hope that by sharing what I am working on, I will learn faster and build a community that is not limited by geography.

3. I like to make stuff

I have a constant itch to create. I feel most fulfilled when I think creatively and solve hard problems. One of the ways I like to create is through writing, and one of my goals for 2025 is to write more. Sharing what I build and publishing personal essays will hold me accountable to that.
